SATB (A cappella)
Dating back to the late 16th century, “Nativity Carol” (sometimes known as “Lute Book Carol”), was found in a lute book by William Ballet at Trinity College, Dublin. A version for five viols also exists. In a performance of this carol, the words “lul-la” and “lullaby” should be pronounced “loo-la” and “Loo-la-by” in accordance with tradition.
