“Fum, Fum, Fum,” is a carol having its roots in the Catalan (Spanish) tradition of the 16th or 17th century. According to one source, “fum” depicts the sound of a drum or the strumming of a guitar. The design of the song is AB, the “B” made interesting by the ¾ extension.
